Extreme Christmas Tree Lighting

Join the Washington State Fair Events Center as we kick off the holiday season in style at our annual Extreme Christmas Tree Lighting. Enjoy complimentary hot cider, cookies, and holiday music as Santa arrives to light up the 185-foot Extreme Christmas Tree with 4,494 twinkling lights before your very eyes. NEW THIS YEAR: Visit with Santa's reindeer!

This special event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6:00pm on the first day of the A Victorian Country Christmas event at the Washington State Fair Events Center. The tree lighting viewing is included with admission to Victorian Country Christmas that day.

Guests are also invited to attend the North Pole at the Fair, located in the Red Gate Building just inside the Red Gate. Tour Santa’s house, enjoy a variety of kids' activities, write a letter in Santa’s Office, and snap your family photo with Santa in the portrait studio! Visit North Pole at the Fair to schedule your Santa photo. North Pole admission is just $5 per person and kids under two are free. Please note, there is an additional fee for Santa portraits.

About the Extreme Christmas Tree

The Extreme Christmas Tree at the Washington State Events Center is a tradition that started in 2011. The 185-foot artificial Christmas tree utilizes the framework of the Extreme Scream thrill ride and is the tallest structure in the Puyallup Valley. It kicks off the start of the holiday season, offering a festive backdrop to the Puyallup Valley skyline during the month of December. In total 4,494 lights create the Extreme Christmas Tree.

Ticket admission to A Victorian Country Christmas is required to attend the tree lighting. North Pole at the Fair admission is separate and does not include entrance to the Tree Lighting.

Special: 

Admission is only $2 per person from 3pm-7pm with a new toy donation to The Salvation Army. Bring your new and unwrapped toy to the Blue or Gold Gate for your discounted admission to A Victorian Country Christmas and Extreme Christmas Tree Lighting events.
